Abstract (EN)
In this study, kaolin, montmorillonite, and sepiolite clays were added to water based commercial paints with the codes Ral 6034, Ral 7012, Ral 9003 at the rates of % 0.5, % 1, % 2 respectively in each Ral code. A Gloss of the paints with these additives, the degree of paint adhesion by cross-cut test, was determined. Color change measurement, pull-off adhesion strength, FT-IR tests were carried out. As the ratio of additives increased in paint gloss values, gloss decreased. It was observed that this decrease was at an acceptable level in all paints except Ral 7012 % 2 additive. In the cross-cut test, the adhesion class of paints with % 1 and % 2 Ral 9003 additives was determined as 2. This value was varied between 0 and 1 in other paints. The lowest values of ΔE* deviations were determined for Ral 6034 %1 kaolin, Ral 7012 %1 kaolin, Ral 9003 % 2 montmorillonite additives. As a result of the FT-IR examination, no structural changes were observed in the clay-added paints. It was observed that clays increased the adhesion strength by a minimum of % 4 in all paints, except for the paint with Ral 7012 % 1 kaolin additive and Ral 9003 % 2 sepiolite
