Effects of mix cropping of narbon vetch (Vicia narbonensis) withreygrass (Lolium multiflorum L.)on forage yield and quality and weed supression potential

This study was carried out to determine the suppression of weed yields, vegetative characteristics, nutritional values and weed population of pure stands and the mixtures (50%-50%) of narbon vetch (Vicia narbonansis) and ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum L.) in Bilecik ecological conditions. The field trials were carried out in the vegetation period of 2020-2021 and experiment were set up with three replications according to the Randomised Blocks Trial Design. In sole crop planting plots, 6 kg vetch (Vicia narbonensis), 3 kg ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum) per decare while, 3 kg vetch (Vicia narbonensis), 1.5 kg ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum) for mix cropping system. In the research trial; There are a total of 15 applications, including 9 mixtures and 6 pure stand applications. Leguminous plant height, grass plant height, plant stem diameter, number of sprouts in grasses, number of lateral branches in octopus, leaf width-length in wheatgrass, leaf/stem ratio, leaf/stalk ratio, botanical composition of mixtures, green grass yield, hay yield , crude protein ratio, crude protein yield, cell wall components in plants, digestible dry matter and relative feed value were investigated. As a result of the study, in terms of total green grass yield, the highest green grass yield was from the IFVN 567+Trinova mixture system with 5969.6 kg/da, the highest hay yield was from the IFVN 567+Bartigra mixture system with 1327.8 kg/da, and the highest crude protein yield was 247.87. It was obtained from IFVN 567+Trinova mixture variety with kg/da value. It has also been seen that it is successful in suppressing weeds in parallel with the composition and vegetative growth characteristics of the plant varieties.
