Abstract (EN)

Today, the rapid increase in the population in big cities, limited zoning areas other than agricultural areas have increased the tendency towards high-rise buildings. Make a combination of an increase in the use of reinforced concrete and steel reinforced concrete structures in recent years, although come to the fore when examining Turkey in the highrise structures are observed. As can be understood from this problem, the need to build higher structures in narrower areas will continue to increase in the future. Considering the material characteristics of reinforced concrete and steel, it can be said that their negative effects can be reduced by using them together. For this reason, composite column design and calculation comes to the fore. The main features of the composite columns prevent the column made of the rolled profile from being embedded in the concrete and buckling. Besides, it is a good measure against fire. To increase the axial load carrying capacity of the column by increasing the wrapping effect of the concrete in concrete filled steel tube columns. Whether it is recessed profile columns or concrete filled tube sections, it increases the rigidity and decreases the slenderness of the column. High rigidity causes less displacement and allows us to pass larger spans. In this study, the design of two different composite column types according to Eurocode 4 has been tried to be explained with examples. The first example describes the design of a concrete filled circular section under axial pressure, while the second example describes the design of a H section composite column completely embedded in concrete, subjected to pressure and biaxial bending.
