Abstract (EN)
Providing the primary stability and secondary stability are one of the most success criterion on dental implants applied to remove natural edentation. Primary stability is the mechanically corroboration of implant by bone. Factors that affects primary stability are bone density, macro and mikro surface properties of implant and applied surgical technique. In our study, it is aimed to investigate the effects, on the primary stability that obtained in beginning, of the implant micro surface on the Sawbones®️ synhetic bone blocks which has D1, D2,D3 and D4 bone density that mimic jawbone. Macro surfaces are the same as with 4.2 mm diameter and 11.5 mm length, for micro surfaces though which are Hydroxyapatite (HA), 5 different surfaced dental implants that roughened with machine, roughened with double acid, roughened with sanding+pickling (SLA) and processed with titanium plasm spray (TPS) are used. In our study, insertion torque, Resonance Frequency Analysis (RFA) and extraction torque values are examined. While no significant difference was found between surfaces in D4 bone density: The highest insertion torque on D1 bone density was observed in implant roughened with double acid. The highest insertion torque on D2 bone density was observed in implants covered with titanium plasm spray. The highest insertion torque in D3 density was observed in implants that has hydroxyapatite coated surfaces. In the evaluation of extraction torque in our study; the highest extaction torque values, in all bone types, were observed in implants that roughened with double acid and coated with titanium plasm spray (TPS). Key Words: dental implants, surface modifications, insertion torque, removal torque, resonance frequency analysis The present work was supported by the Research Fund of Istanbul University.
