Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine agility tests conducted on football players on different playing surfaces (artificial turf, natural grass, and parquet flooring) based on certain variables, although various playing surfaces such as sand, soil, clay, concrete, asphalt, and parquet are used in the world's most popular sport, football; traditionally, natural grass is preferred. Each of these different field surfaces has distinct advantages and disadvantages. Sixteen male volunteers participating in the Sinop Amateur League U-19 team were included in the research. The Illinois Agility Test and the 505 Agility Test were administered to the players on natural grass, artificial turf, and parquet flooring. The SPSS 22 software package program was used for the analysis of the research findings, and the significance level was set at p < 0.05. According to the results of both agility tests applied with and without the ball, it was determined that the agility test results obtained on natural grass were better than other surfaces (artificial grass and parquet floor). As a result, we think that the mechanical properties of the surface are decisive in physical performance and agility and that the surface used in training or competitions may have an impact on performance and injury period.
