Abstract (EN)

People have felt the need to protect themselves against external influences for centuries. Armor also came out in line with this need, and with the advancement of technology, the materials used in the making of the armor also changed. With the latest technology, in the armor production of advanced technology ceramics; They are preferred due to their features such as being light, showing good properties in terms of strength and having the feature of absorbing the energy of the bullet. In this study, it is aimed to obtain armor material by using alumina(Al2O3) technical ceramics. It was planned to compress the alumina ceramic powder in the produced molds by pressing, and then combine the samples formed after sintering these samples at a certain temperature and time to obtain armor. As a result of these procedures, it was observed that, as a result of some tests applied, approximately the same values with the literature were obtained, and in some results, better results were obtained compared to the literature. As a result of the evaluations and calculations, the lightness of the alumina ceramic samples and the goodness in terms of strength in the physics tests were seen, and thus it was found that the use of ceramics as armor material in the defense industry was appropriate.
