Özet (EN)

Enamel is a glassy coating applied to metal surfaces to provide protection and enhance aesthetic appearance. In this study, the applicability of a novel silica-based coating on enamel-coated metal surfaces was investigated. The primary aim of the study is to develop a surface modification that facilitates the easy removal of food residues that adhere to enamel surfaces during cooking, particularly in areas such as oven interiors or trays. The silica-based coating applied in this context aims to improve surface cleanability while also creating a suitable substrate for the application of additional coatings such as Teflon. Based on thermal analysis conducted for enamel, its softening point was determined to be 660 °C, and its working temperature range was identified as 545–650 °C. This temperature range is critical for the successful formation of the coating. Additionally, DTA/TG analyses revealed that talc decomposes within the range of 558–694 °C, and this decomposition temperature range directly influences the formation of the coating and the associated compositional changes. Furthermore, under processing conditions of 600 °C for 180 minutes, it was observed that the surface components reacted to form a homogeneous coating structure. The coating obtained at this temperature exhibited both strong adhesion to the surface and good durability. The findings indicate that silica-based coatings can form a homogeneous and stable structure on enamel-coated surfaces and enhance the cleanability of such surfaces
