Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the corrosion performance of different types of galvanized reinforcements embedded in normal and fly ash concrete was investigated. Concretes were produced in two different ways, with and without reinforcement. Produced specimens were cured in standard curing environment for 28 days and then related experiments were carried out. Accelerated corrosion tests were carried out on the reinforced specimens whose curing period was completed. After the accelerated corrosion tests, the reinforcements were removed from the concrete and the actual weight losses were determined. Then, the yield and tensile strengths of these reinforcements were determined by tensile tests. After these experiments, it was determined which type of galvanized coating is better for reinforcement corrosion. Ultrasonic pulse velocity, compressive strength, splitting and tensile strength, rapid chloride permeability, electrical resistivity, apparent porosity and water absorption tests were carried out to determine the physical, mechanical and durability properties of unreinforced concrete specimens. As a result, it was observed that the resistance to corrosion increased with the galvanization of the reinforcements. In addition, it was concluded that the reinforcements in the fly ash concretes were less corroded.
