Abstract (EN)

A clean and white body is very important in the ceramic and porcelain industry. In particular, impurities such as Fe2O3 can have important side effects such as physical, chemical and aesthetic appearance. In this direction, physical/chemical instability and color changes caused by impurities should be prevented. The way to overcome this is to disrupt the crystal structure of the iron oxide. In this study, It is aimed to prevent the coloration of iron, which is found in high proportions in the clays used in the ceramic and porcelain industry. In the study; 4 different types of clay and by weight %0, %2 %4, %6, %8, %10 formulations were prepared using Fe2O3 and FeCl3 iron sources added in proportions. The samples prepared with the specified formulations were sintered at 1200 °C. By performing XRD analysis on the sintered samples, the temperature effect of the clays and the iron source behavior added by weight were investigated. According to the XRD analysis results, the crystal parameters of the mullite were calculated, the iron solubility in the mullite was determined and the surface images were examined by SEM analysis. At the same time, water absorption, porosity, density and L*a*b* analyzes of the sintered samples were made. As a result of the studies, the usability of Şile and CC-31 clays in the porcelain and ceramic industry provides advantages for water absorption, porosity, strength and production conditions.
