Özet (EN)

Since our country is located on active fault lines, the design of earthquake resistant reinforced concrete is significant in Turkey. Reinforced concrete shear walls are reinforced concrete system elements that have a high contribution in increasing the earthquake resistance of the building. Reinforced concrete shear walls have a great influence on bearing horizontal loads. Due to some architectural requirements for the buildings, reinforced concrete shear walls with different cross-section types are frequently modeled. U-shaped reinforced concrete shear wall is one of the most widely used section types. It is often preferred in reinforced concrete structures, usually in stairway landings, around wellhole, especially in high-rise buildings. In this study, a reinforced concrete frame system structure with a reinforced concrete U- shaped shear wall element in the center is designed. Linear analyzes of this designed structure were made by creating models in 4 different structural analysis programs, namely Program A, Program B, Program C and Program D, and the analysis results were compared. In these designed models, the U-shaped shear wall element is modeled by utilizing different methods and its behavior on the system is analyzed. In this study, the design stages of the models created in 4 different structural analysis programs are shown in all details according to the TBEC 2018 and the comparison of the analysis results of the created models is given in the 6th section. Keywords: Reinforced concrete u-shaped wall, Reinforced concrete shear wall, Linear anlysis, Wide-column model, Frame element model
