Abstract (EN)

All praise is to Allah Alone, and may His peace and blessings be upon His Messenger and slave, our Prophet Messenger. The Quran which is source of Islamic sciences is the miraculous statement. Although the Quran is source of all Islamic sciences, none of them is more related than Quranic exegesis (tafsir) and science of reciting the Quran (Qira'at). Ouran recitation science is very important due to transmission of recitation method, tacweed (intonation) seven ahruf (letters), etc from the prophet to his companions and from the companions to other generations. Even though the science of qira'at separates into two parts (recitation and meaning), we can say that the side of meaning is neglected in the current researches. The all kinds of qira'at help us understand the Quran. That our religious scholars named the non-recognized qira'at as "al-qira'at at-tafsiriyya" supports this idea. For this reason, I focus on relation between qira'at and meaning in this thesis. We must say that in my research I focus only on the recognized qira'at and we don't mention other kinds of Quran recitations. My research is composed with two parts. In the first section we give general information about the origin of the science of reciting the Quran, its terms, sorts of qira'at, the necessary conditons for the true (sahih) qira'at, the famous readers (imams) of qira'at, seven ahruf (letters), rules of stopping (waqf) and start (ibtida). In the second section we illustrates with examples the effect of qira'at differences on the meaning in the surat al fatihah and surat al baqarah Keywords: Quran, Qira'at, Ouran recitation science, seven ahruf (letters), Fatihah and surat al Baqarah
