Abstract (EN)

When feminism is defined in the most general sense, it is the movement that advocates that women and men should be equal in areas such as education, law, economy, politics and social life. The development and progress of a society is related to the freedom and rights of the people living in that society. Therefore, feminism contributes to the development of societies, arguing that women have equal social and political rights with men. Feminism first appeared in France in the 18th century, a society that strived for this development. However, feminist debate has been able to maintain its influence in every period. In the 21st century, women's rights are still being spoken and we are skeptical about the attitude of men to women, and we want to investigate what women think about this issue and how much information they have about feminism. It was tried to investigate whether the Turkish woman was aware of the concept of feminism, what she understood from the concept of feminism, and how much it stood on their rights. The study was conducted over the Bursa example. In order to evaluate feminist point of view of women in the province of Bursa, the history of Bursa province, educational status, demographic situation and economic situation have been evaluated with a general view of Bursa. Since this part continued with the evaluation of the questionnaire data, the general situation of Bursa Province hast to be discussed. It was tried to reach the result by evaluating the applied data of the survey. As a result, women living in Bursa are not far from the concept of feminism and women are seen as advocates of their rights.
