The drag of the body from feminism to post-humanism

From ancient times to the present, women have been biologically and socially marginalized in every way, sometimes represented fertility, sometimes attributed as a witch. She has taken on gender roles to become the highest-ranking slave in the home while battling identity conflict in the patriarchal hierarchy. Women have made several claims about their bodies and rights and, significant attempts have been made to meet these demands ever since feminism first appeared. Since the beginning of art history, the female body, as one of the most important subjects of art, has decorated the canvases of white-male artists and has not gone beyond being a fetish object for the audience. However, some artists have emphasized that they denied this situation by presenting their bodies as both the subject and the object of their works. In this context, the use of various artists' bodies as the subject of their works is assessed in the context of feminist criticism as well as the post-humanism phenomenon, which has recently been discussed in the academic framework, and its effects on the transformation process of the body as well as its effects on art. The absence of gender and the potential end to masculine dominance for women are represented by Donna Haraway's cyborg figure, which makes it natural for the body to go beyond its bounds. A genderless society emerges when the barrier between the female and the cyborg figure disappears. The significance of the genderless society that could exist in the future for women is underlined in addition to the importance of body perception in the past. The position of the body in art is assessed in the context of feminism and post-humanism through the works of many artists and is backed up by the artwork created within the framework of the thesis.
