Examination of pre-service science teacher's awareness levels about nanotechnology in terms of different variables

The future societal and economic impacts of nanoscience and nanotechnology increase the demand for a nano-literate public and a nano-competent workforce. This means the urgent need for nano-educational interventions and informal learning contexts in schools. Revealing the knowledge of the students in the education system about nanoscience and nanotechnology constitutes one of the priority and important steps in the process in which the mentioned subjects will be included in our education system. For this process, it is aimed to determine the awareness level of Science Education program students about nanoscience and nanotechnology with the awareness scale. From the findings, it was found that the average awareness scores of science teaching students were at a good level, and it was observed that the awareness levels of pre-service teachers increased positively over the years, unlike the studies done so far. This study aims to reveal the awareness of pre-service science teachers about microtechnology and nanotechnology, with the prospective teachers of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades of Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University, Faculty of Education, Department of Science Education for the year 2021-2022, using quantitative research method and descriptive research. was prepared using the scanning model.
