Abstract (EN)

In this study, it is aimed to examine the level of teacher candidates' in-class teaching skills by using self-evaluation form. In this way, it is thought that teacher candidates will contribute to the candidates in understanding and assimilating the learning they need for their professional development. The research was conducted in a screening model. The study group consisted of 36 undergraduate students in the fourth year of science teaching at Bayburt Faculty of Education in the spring term of 2017-2018 academic year. The research data were collected with self-evaluation form and semi-structured interview form developed by the researcher and applied in the special teaching methods course in the science teaching program. The data collected in the research were analyzed through descriptive and content analysis. In the study, it was determined that pre-service science teachers determined how to evaluate the activities to be done during the planning stage of the teaching process. In this context, it can be said that the majority of prospective teachers have planning competencies which is an important stage of their teaching skills.
