Examination of the awareness and the attitudes of science teacher candidates on wetlands in terms of some variables related with environmental problems

When we look at the historical processes, one of the most valuable elements of life, water, which we know that many living places are around water and that nothing else can replace it; It is in danger of extinction due to the increase in population in recent years, industrialization, pesticides used in agricultural activities, mismanagement and many reasons. Water is always in motion and in a cycle. Wetlands have a very important place in the water cycle. Many wetlands have been established because the value of wetlands is not recognized, and most importantly, because they cause diseases. Most of the wetlands in our country are on the migration routes of birds. Wetlands, which have such an important place in the ecosystem, should be protected by both the public and institutions and organizations. Because the destruction of wetlands is an important problem that affects all humanity. It is necessary to raise awareness of people for sustainability, to carry out projects and provide training in this area. pre-service teachers' awareness and attitudes towards Wetlands and their protection within the scope of environmental problems. In the study, the data of the research were collected with the socio-economic questionnaire applied to the pre-service science teachers, the attitude scale towards the protection of wetlands and the awareness scale. The scales applied to the pre-service science teachers and the analysis of some variables were made and the socioeconomic survey analysis was carried out. Candidates' ideas about wetlands were taken. As a result of the study, the candidates made suggestions to raise awareness of people about wetlands and to give environmental education.
