Investigation of objectives of science programs in the context of multifunctionalagricultural literacy

The aim of this research is to examine how 11 standards in the 8th theme (Science, Technology, and Engineering) in multifunctional agriculture literacy knowledge dimension are reflected regarding the objectives available in 2004 Science and Technology Curriculum, 2013 Science Curriculum and 2018 Science Curriculum. Science Course Curriculum (2004, 2013 and 2018) has been examined separately from the 5th grade to the 8th grade under the name of Science, Technology and Engineering in the Multi-functional Agriculture literacy knowledge dimension. In this research, the document analysis technique and related content analysis, which are among the qualitative research methods, and enable the data to be examined in written and visual sources, were used. First of all, some of the objectives in Science programs (2004, 2013 and 2018) were chosen randomly by two researchers and field experts, and the standards to which they were related were determined. After the objectives were selected, the standards associated by the experts and the researchers were compared. The remaining part of the study was carried out by the researcher, since the views of the researchers and field experts were in the same direction. When the results of the analysis are evaluated, considering only the number of related objectives, the 2004 Science and Technology Curriculum (93 objectives) , the 2013 Science Curriculum (36 objectives) and the 2018 Science Curriculum (68 objectives) came to the fore. Considering the ratio of the objectives whose relationship has been observed within the total objectives in the curriculum, the opposite situation has been determined. In other words, it was determined that the 2018 Science Education Program was in the first place (30.49%). In the light of the findings obtained, suggestions were made for the integration of multifunctional agricultural literacy into science and other curricula, raising awareness of agricultural literacy and conducting more comprehensive studies in the field.
