The cri̇ti̇si̇si̇m about Fethi̇ Naci̇'s "Di̇ari̇es of Cri̇ti̇ci̇si̇m"

Criticism and being a critic, the two concepts merged into one another, are two of the most discussed subjects in the history of Turkish literature. Furthermore, the lack of diversity in our criticism compared to the one in Western literature, constitutes one of the deficiencies of our criticism. Fethi Naci, whose style and approach along with his criticisim has been debated, is one of the prominent critics in our literature. Especially, his "Diaries of Criticism", which were written between 1980 and 1995, are among the significant examples of essay – criticism genre. His critical writings under this title have a particular importance in terms of presenting the problematics, like subjectivity – objectivity and ideological approach in criticism.In this study, Fethi Naci's "Diaries of Criticism" are discussed and his investigations are presented with a critical reading. We benefited from Eleştiri Günlüklerias our references. We also benfited from Yıldız Ecevit's article named "Three Stages of Socialist Aesthetics in Fethi Naci", which discusses the period changes in Fethi Naci's criticism, and some other works of different writers who had also studied on criticism in Turkish literature. The purpose of this study is to discuss the subjective, objective and ideological approaches in the writings of Fethi Naci who was influenced by the Marxist theory, to determine the discursivechanges in his criticism and to show his place in our history of criticism.
