Abstract (EN)

Following the conflicts erupted between Druse and Maronite groups in Lebanon around 1860's, about one million people mostly from Lebanon, Palestine and Syria had immigrated to the North and South America. The immigrants most of whom occured by Christian Arabs had established many associations in the cultural and social spheres to keep their culture and traditions alive. As a result of these movements 'the Literatuer at Exile' was emerged. The subject of this thesis is the life and works of Fevzī al Malouf, one of the leading poets of 'Exile(Mehcer) Literature' which is an important field and richness of modern Arabic literature, and the translation and literary analysis of his poem " ʿAlâ Bisâti'r-Rîh " (The Flying Carpet). There isn't any detached literary works in Turkey related to this young poet whose poems was translated into the western languages and was a subject for lots of literary studies. So, we deemed appropriate to prepare this study by taking this deficiency into consideration and to present it to the benefit of Turkish readers, especially academicians. Keywords: Immigration to America, The Literatuer at Exile, Favzī al Maʿlūf, The Flying Carpet
