The divan of Feyzi Halil Paşazade

Feyzi Halil Paşazade is a poet of 18. Century Divan Literature. He served in different departments in Ottoman Empire.He did training in agency and became Hacegan, and then he served as armourer clerk and died in 1198 (1784) We do not have enough information about his life. Besides state services, Feyzi Bey also interested in art and created a divan named Divan-ı Feyzi Bey. Divan occurs 142 poems. This divan which is the only known work of poet constitutes the base of our thesis.In the first part of thesis, we informed about the life , literary career and work of Feyzi Halil Paşazade. In the second part, we defined the shape, genre, measure and rhyme of poet?s 142 poems; and we concreted these datas with tables, thus poet?s power of using the blank verses of Divan Literature emerged. We also tried to enlighten emotional and ideal world of poet and his power of using language. In the third part, the text was adapted from Ottoman Turkish to present Turkish with transcription letters and the reader had the chance to face with the original text.We need to analyse these poems within the tradition of 18. Century Divan Literature. Because of their carrying elements of political, social, culturel and literary elements of the century it was written in respect to their features of content and shape. In this regard, Feyzi Halil Paşazade is an original personality who reflected his emotinal and ideal world into his work and maintained the tradition and language properties of Divan Literature, in a period when Divan Literature started to evolve into classical form.Key Words: Divan Literature, Feyzi Halil Paşazade, Divan-ı Feyzi Bey, 18.
