Özet (EN)
This thesis consists of an introduction and two main chapters. The introduction outlines the research topic, objectives, methodology, and limitations, thereby establishing the theoretical framework of the study. Designed as a qualitative research, the study adopts a text-centered approach to analyze Abdullah Galib Bergûsî's works in terms of theme, structure, and rhetoric. The texts are evaluated within the context of Palestinian prison literature using analytical methods specific to Arabic literary criticism. The first chapter presents a general overview of literature and the historical development of prison literature, highlighting its distinct position within the Arab world, particularly in the Palestinian context. Additionally, it provides historical background on Palestine and offers a chronological account of Bergûsî's biography, from his childhood to his imprisonment. In the second chapter, Abdullah Galib Bergûsî's major literary works are analyzed in detail with regard to structure, content, themes, and narrative techniques. The analyses reveal that the themes of resistance and martyrdom in his texts are not merely ideological positions but are constructed as moral and existential stances. In particular, the work al-Miksala addresses themes such as betrayal, interrogation, torture, and inner breakdown within a strong dramatic framework; while Mājida and Malāk al-Raḥma depict female characters as active agents of resistance, demonstrating that Bergûsî transcends patriarchal narrative conventions by constructing original representations of women. In terms of language and style, the use of religious references, metaphorical expressions, and interior monologues reveals the author's rhetorical skill and ideological depth. These findings indicate that Bergûsî reimagines prison not merely as a space of confinement, but as a center of intellectual and cultural production.
