Abstract (EN)

Since the third quarter of the 20th century, the financialization process has started to show a rapid course with technology and globalization, whose development speed has increased gradually. The existence of people who can control the behavior economically has become important in terms of one's own budget and the economy of the country at the same time. The person who has a good command of investment and savings tools, who analyzes and interprets them well, will help this sector to take shape with the savings decisions he will make. Apart from these, it is an undeniable reality that the contribution of personal savings is needed in order for the country's economies to develop and develop in a healthy way. At this point, it is important to what extent people decide to save. Financial literacy, which is stated to have a strong effect on individual savings, is a concept that can be developed in this direction with some appropriate political tools and even channels. The main purpose of our research is within this scope. This study, which was measured in order to reveal the financial behavior, financial knowledge, and attitude levels of the employees residing in Bartın province, together with their socio-demographic characteristics, are the components of financial literacy. It is to present the results of the saving behaviors of individuals and whether they have an effect on the decisions they will take. In this direction, a survey conducted in Bartın province and a total of 476 people were applied and some findings were reached as a result of analysis. When the results obtained regarding the relationship between financial literacy level and demographic characteristics of the participants were examined, it was concluded that there was no significant relationship between gender and financial literacy level. It has been determined that there is a significant relationship between age and financial literacy level. It was concluded that there is no significant relationship between marital status and financial literacy level. When the results obtained regarding the relationship between education level and financial literacy level are examined, it is concluded that there is a significant relationship. When the results obtained regarding the relationship between saving status and demographic characteristics of the participants were examined, it was concluded that there was no significant relationship between gender, age, marital status, education level, monthly income level, institution of employment, household type credit card use and saving status. When the results obtained regarding the relationship between monthly income level and financial literacy level are examined, it is concluded that there is a significant relationship.
