Abstract (EN)
This study examines the transformation of the United Kingdom economy around the orbit of the finance sector with giving particular importance to the impact of this transformation on the country's economic growth performance. In this regard, after presenting a conceptual framework based on the studies of financialization and analysing the institutional and structural changes in the post-war UK economy, the phenomenon and its impact on economic growth are examined with using the stylized facts method. It has been found that financialization deteriorates economic growth, inter alia, by influencing the operational rationality of the non-financial corporations.
