Abstract (EN)
The reasons and frequency of the words in a text may not be just a coincidence. The deliberate preference and frequency of such words in a given text by an author may vary. In the present study, Fîrûz-ı Cihângîr (1-70), which was originally written in the Arabic alphabet, was transcribed into Latin. All the adjectives and adverbs in the text were found and how often each part of speech was used was determined. The study also managed to explain why each part of speech in the story was used either more or less on purpose. The current examination detected each adjective and adverb defining both rival characters in the story, Fîrûz-ı Cihângîr and Nemrûd-ı Âteşperest, and discussed how these adjectives both describe the two heroes and reveal daily life at the time. Taken together, the study set out to reveal some hidden realities behind the text. Keywords: Fîrûz-ı Cihangir, Nemrûd-ı Âteşperest, vocabulary, adjective, adverb, word, Old Anatolian Turkish
