Abstract (EN)

The Story of Fîrûz-i Cihângîr analyzed in this study is a translated work in the genre of prose story belonging to the Classical Ottoman Turkish period. This work written by Muhammed Tahirî-i Bîgamî in forty-five volumes is known as "Fîrûzşah-nâme" or "Dârâb-nâme" in Persian literature. It was translated into Ottoman Turkish in eight volumes by Celalzâde Salih Çelebi. This thesis based on folios 71r-140r of 3th volume of the manuscript registered in the Süleymaniye Manuscript Library Pertevniyal 862, has the Ottoman text, its linguistic analysis and vocabulary. The Ottoman text was transcribed, the indexes of vocabulary and proper nouns and its grammatical features were analyzed. Thus, a prose story belonging to the Classical Ottoman Turkish period was revealed with its linguistic features and vocabulary.
