Abstract (EN)

Fisetin is a flavonoid with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and neuroprotective effects. However, its effects and mechanisms of action on acute pain have not been fully elucidated. This study aims to evaluate the acute analgesic effects of fisetin and the mechanisms mediating these effects in mice using the hot plate and tail immersion tests. Four different doses of fisetin (5, 10, 20, and 40 mg/kg) were assessed for their antinociceptive efficacy using the commonly employed hot plate and tail immersion tests. All doses tested were found to be effective compared to the control. The role of the adrenergic and serotonergic systems in fisetin's mechanism of action was evaluated using yohimbine (1mg/kg) and ketanserin (1mg/kg). According to the obtained data, it was determined that the adrenergic and serotonergic systems contribute to the analgesic effect of fisetin. While the analgesic effect and mechanism of action of fisetin require further detailed study, fisetin has the potential to be developed as a novel analgesic drug.
