Abstract (EN)

This research was carried out to measure the effect of pilates practice, which is considered as one of the physical activities, on technology addiction. The research was designed with a control group pretest-posttest design, which is one of the quasi-experimental research models. While limiting the study group constituting the experimental and control groups, it consists of a total of 120 (experimental n=60 control n=60) secondary and secondary education levels in the 11-16 age group, which were selected by using the convenience sampling technique, which is one of the purposeful sampling methods, and formed by unbiased assignment. In the research, as data collection tools, data were collected with the "Digital Addiction Scale", which was developed by Dilci (2019) and whose validity and reliability study was conducted to determine the technology addiction levels. The scale consists of five sub-dimensions, namely "Deprivation", "Impulsivity", "Low Performance", "Low Self- Perception" and "Social Isolation" and a total of 40 items. The total reliability of the scale was determined as .98. In the study, the Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the scale was found to be 0.922 and 0.924 for the pre- and post-education measurements, respectively. In the first week before the applications, pre-test measurements were applied to the study group, and then no application was made to the control group, and pilates exercise, one of the physical activities, was applied to the experimental group. After the applications were applied for 6 weeks, the 6th week post-test measurements were applied. After the applications were applied for 6 weeks, the 6th week post-test measurements were applied. The data obtained from the research were analyzed with the SPSS 22.0 package program. The study group (n=120) was found to meet the "n≥30" requirement for parametric testing. As a result, it has been concluded that pilates studies from physical activities reduce technology addiction, and pilates from physical activities affects children positively on the axis of technology addiction.
