In this study, 'The Contribution of Hazelnut Finance to Local Development' will be emphasized and the development process of hazelnut agriculture in the region will be mentioned and the effects of hazelnut on local economy and social life will be analyzed. Agriculture has been the main factor in the formation of human settlements in the geography where it has been produced for centuries, has caused mankind to shift from predator and nomadic life to settled order, has influenced social and economic life and contributed to the development of civilization. Agriculture has initially developed into a sector that people produce to meet their own food needs and then contribute to the development of local and international trade. The increase in transportation opportunities and trade networks, the need for food for the survival of living beings, and the need for the income provided by the producer from agriculture have led to the development of the agricultural sector in our country and the world and the increase of agricultural production areas. In our region, agriculture has been affected mostly by geographical and climatic conditions and developed depending on hazelnut and has affected the life in our region. Our region's mountainous and rugged and climatic conditions have brought hazelnut and tea farming to the forefront. The lack of industrial facilities in our region, insufficient income in the service sectors and the lack of alternative agricultural products have made the local people dependent on hazelnut production in agricultural products. In this study, it has been tried to determine the structural features, production cost elements, income, saving and spending trends of farmers who produce hazelnut. 61 hazelnut producers were interviewed with a one-on-one interview method. As a result of the research; 25% of producers are engaged in hazelnut cultivation and 75% are engaged in other professions. Producers save 20% of their income from hazelnut production and spend 80%. While producers grow hazelnut production, they bear the cost of production, and these cost factors differ according to producers, land structure and hazelnut production area. In this thesis study, the data obtained as a result of the survey study were analyzed and the results were tried to be reached, the effect of the income obtained from hazelnut farming on Giresun region was investigated based on the resulting data, and the economic and social life of Giresun from the total hazelnut production of the province and the informal province of Giresun province.
