Abstract (EN)
Technical Analysis is a method of trying to determine the direction, duration and future price movements of a financial product based on the past price movements and graphics. In technical analysis, while indicators and graphs are used, analysts and traders hope to distinguish themselves from the others by making a difference by getting deeper into the formulas of indicators rather than using the values they find classical. This initiative sometimes results in positive results, but often results in the vanishment within the formulas and the creation of late-signaling indicators. In this context, the purpose of this thesis is to explain the technical analysis methods in detail and to apply a single indicator to a commodity with standard values. Within this framework, contrary to limited number of studies on technical analysis in Turkey and in the World, live data was preferred in the application part of the study. In the Forex markets, the Parabolic SAR indicator was applied on the Gold/ American Dollar data and compared to the bank deposit interest rates.
