Özet (EN)
The traditional ship design process is often under the control of geometric modeling of the boat form. After this, model performance is analyzed with various simulations. If the result is not satisfactory, the iterative steps are repeated until the desired performance is obtained. These hull forms, which revealed by these method, are usually a negotiated solution rather than the optimum, that partially reflects the different performance criteria. The purpose of this thesis is developing an automatic methodology based Simulation Driven Design method with using new generation of design, analysis and optimization software combination. For this purpose, parametric modeling software called FRIENDSHIP-Framework is used to collect the optimization process under one roof and handle the process automatically. Aforementioned methodology is used to develop a systematical hull form series for frigate-type surface warships. First a detailed research about same class ships is realized and the design ranges of the systematical series are specified. Then the main hull form is modeled fully parametric to be the basis of the systematic series. The parameters that are used in fully parametric model are classified as variable and fixed. The frigate series is created by changing the design variables systematically and consist of 450 hull forms. Resistance analyses for 7 speeds and seakeeping analyses for 2 speeds are performed simultaneously for each hull forms. Resistance and seakeeping analyses are performed with softwares based computational fluid Dynamics (CFD) methods. The results obtained are represented by graphs and given information about resistance seakeeping characteristics of the systematic series.Next stage, two hull form are chosen as sample and a multi-objective optimization process is performed. After optimization, initial and optimum hull forms are compared to show that how to improve the resistance and seakeeping results with some local changes. As a result of the presented work, an automatic hull form modeling, analyze and optimization methodology is created and a new systematic series for frigate-type surface warship is developed. The systematic series will shorten the preliminary design stage of the similar type vessels providing information to the designer about hydrodynamic performance of the hull forms. The series is covering a wide design range and it is possible to obtain hull forms that satisfy different design requirements. Besides, it will be provided to optimize the hull forms with some local changes.
