Deregulation and taxation in the football economy

Football has reached enormous economic dimensions today. It has become a growing industry with the incomes provided by the clubs and the agreements they have made. Before football was industrialized, it was a sport that used people's free time. In the 20th century, football entered the industrialization process with the development of technology and the phenomenon of professionalism. With the industrialization process of football, many sectors that want to benefit from the effect of football reaching the masses have created income for the football economy for the clubs. Increasing broadcasting revenues and sponsorships over time increased football revenues. This has also brought about an increase in the expenses of football clubs. Clubs, whose expenses have increased much more than their income over time, have chosen the way of borrowing in order to close the gap. Expenses increased more than incomes and as a result, debts increased, and this situation paved the way for the idea of privatization through the privatization of many clubs. Considerable clubs in Europe used the privatization method and started to be managed under the ownership of private individuals. With the privatization of the clubs and the transfer of responsibility to one person, it was seen that the economic stability was achieved in these clubs. In this study, the positive and negative effects of privatizations in the football economy on the football sector were examined. The effects of the situation that emerged after the privatization were analyzed using data for the sector. It has been observed that privatization has an increasing effect on football clubs. Although privatization has some drawbacks in the sector, it has been seen that privatization contributes more to the effectiveness and sportive stability of clubs.
