A research on football fans buying behaviors: Batman Petrolspor example

Fans have an important share in the football industry. Football clubs make millions of dollars from the donations and purchases of their fans. Fans are important for football clubs in terms of economic, social and cultural aspects. Football fans have different characteristics and types. Some may be fans because of the success of their club and the style of the team, while others may become fans simply because they are from the city or region where their team is located. In addition, the fans may differ according to factors such as gender, age, socioeconomic status and interests. The study focuses on the purchasing behavior of football fans and examines the importance of the fans in the football sector, the characteristics and types of the fans, the reasons for being a supporter, the contribution of the fans to the football sector and their purchasing behavior. The study was conducted with the idea that the purchasing behavior of football fans increases as a result of motivation. In the research, it was aimed to determine what the factors that motivate/shape the purchasing behavior of football fans and how football fans will be motivated to purchase behavior. . Questionnaire method was used as a data collection tool in the research. In the study, the data obtained from 325 Batman Petrolspor fans, who were randomly selected through convenience sampling, were analyzed with the SPSS program. As a result of the study, football fans; No differentiation was found between income levels, gender, advocacy levels, income levels, self-definition dimensions, marital status and product purchasing behaviors. Football fans; A significant difference was found between team success, the purpose of providing financial support, the quality of the products, the influence of the environment, the use of the products in daily life, the licensed products and the product purchasing behaviors.
