Abstract (EN)
The Effect of Core Training Which Applied to Football Players on Static Balance and Jumping Performance Balance that is one of the major motoric characteristics providing the control and discipline in the physical, mental and psychological coordination of the organism, is available at certain specific levels in every sports branch. Core training is important for development of body balance and control. As the force of big and small muscles is increased with the core trainings, the risk of injury decreases and also, productivity in performance of the movements or in transitions during the performance improves depending on the development in the balance performance. The balance is important by the characteristic nature of the football and the core training is an important component within the general training planning of the football. Thus, the aim of this research is to investigate the effect of the core training applied in football players on the static balance and jumping performance. 20 healthy football players who play football as amateur in the Ağrı province and also play football team of Ağrı Ibrahim Çeçen University voluntarily participated into the study. Athletes were divided into two groups by selecting randomly. 10 athletes whose age average is 22.40 ± 1.71 years, height average is 180.60± 7.03 cm, body weight average is 75.30± 8.34kg constituted the test group; 10 athletes whose age average is 21.30 ± 2.91 years, height average is 178.80 ± 7.87cm, body weight average is 75.40 ± 16.12 kg constituted the control group. In addition to the football trainings, 30 minutes of core training program was applied on the test group for 3 days in a week for 8 weeks, the control group only continued to the football trainings. Data forthe body composition of subjects were collected by using Bodystat®1500 Body Analysis (Impedancemeter) device, data forthe measurement of the Balance were collected by using TecnoBody Pro-Kin Type B 252 Test Device, data forthe jumping performance by using Powertimer PC 1.9.5 Version Newtest device and measurement mat forthe device. Measurements were taken for two times pre and post-study. Normality tests forthe data were conducted and it was found out that they do not show a normal distribution. Forthis reason, while Wilcoxon Signed Rank test of the non-parametrical tests was being used in the intragroup comparisons, Man Whitney U Test was being used in intergroup comparison. In this study, the margin of error was accepted as (α) 0,05 and (α) 0,01. Once the findings obtained at the end of the study were examined; significant developments were observed between the pre-test and post-test results of the static balance and jumping performance of the test group (P<0.05). When the post-test results of the static balance performance of the test and control groups are compared, it is seen that post-test results of test group are significantly different than the post-test results of the control group (P<0.05). On the other hand, a significant difference was not found between the post-test results of the test and control group forthe jumping performance (P>0.05).
