Evaluation of oxygen uptake kinetics of football players

Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine the changes in the oxygen uptake kinetic parameters of the U-19 age active football players before and after the 8-week training program. Thirty football players, 15 in the experimental group and 15 in the control group, participated in this study. Measurements were performed on the treadmill using the Bruce protocol and oxygen uptake kinetics evaluation protokol. The players continued their regular training programs (4 training sessions per week, 90 minutes each training) in the first 8 weeks of the preparatory season. Endurance training content of players throughout this process; It consists of 4*30 m intervals at 90-95% maximal running speed, and the rest period were 3 minutes. The parameters before and after the sprint interval training program were compared and examined. VO2max (L/min), VO2max (ml/kg/min), time (min), VO2 AE (%VO2max), HR AE, HR AE (%HR) were found different statistically significantly in the control group (p<0,05). VO2max (L/min), VO2max (ml/kg/min), RER, time (min), MET, Time AT (min), VO2 AT (ml/kg/min), VO2 AT (%VO2max) , HR AT, HR AT (%HR), VE AT (L/min), SF AT were found different statistically significantly in the experiment group (p<0,05). Oxygen uptake kinetic parameters at exercise and recovery, were found different statistically significant in the experimental control group in terms of VO2 amplitude (L.min-1), running economy (ml/kg/km-1), τVO2 (s) parameters in recovery (p<0,05). A significant difference was found in τVO2 (s) recovery after exercise, VO2 amplitude (L.min-1), running economy (ml/kg/km-1) parameters in the experimental group in fixed-loaded exercise (p<0,05). Recovery τVO2 (s) VO2 amplitude (L.min-1), running economy (ml.kg-1.km-1) was found different statistically different after exercise in the experimental group during fixed-loaded exercise (p<0,05). As a result, it was determined that the sprint interval training program made a difference in terms of cardiovascular and respiratory adaptation and oxygen uptake kinetic responses. In this respect, sprint interval trainning is recommended to take part in football training.
