Uzri love conception on Fuzûlî and Sa'dî

In studies of classical Turkish poetry, many unresolved issues and ambiguities remain, lacking clear definitions. The human-divine aspect of love, a central theme of the poetry, is at the forefront of these issues. To date, researchers have hesitated to address even topics they are undoubtedly familiar with; they have not sufficiently explored these subjects or concepts. The exclusion of the concepts of "hadarî" and "uzrî" from classical Turkish poetry studies narrows the scope of these analyses; each love is subjected to a superficial evaluation as either human or divine. This, while not necessarily wrong, leads to an incomplete approach in poetry studies. Indeed, almost every poem by poets like Fuzûlî is analyzed from a divine/mystical perspective, and verses that should be evaluated in a human context are instead interpreted in a divine context to avoid contradicting tradition or for other reasons. Our study aims to make the concepts of "hadari" and "uzri" visible and to pave the way for these concepts to become a criterion in poetry analysis. In this context, by demonstrating that Fuzûlî, like Sa'dî-i Sîrâzî, was an "uzri" poet, the aim is to outline the framework of "uzri" love using shared concepts and notions.
