The comparative analysis of centroid methods in ranking fuzzy numbers

In this thesis, the ranking of fuzzy numbers, an important component in the decision making process, is discussed. Most commonly used techniques, namely the centroid index ranking methods are analyzed. Formulae of centroidpoints, the ranking indices, the e?ectiveness and the generalized fuzzy numbers of the mentioned methods are compared in terms of their validity. In order for comparison, the reviewed methods are applied to di?erent fuzzy number setsand ranking indices are obtained for each fuzzy number. On using the ranking indices, ranking results are obtained for each of the methods and these results are tabulated.
