Idoms and proverbs in Garami Divan's

In Classical Turkish Literature, the tradition of using proverbs and idioms in poems is a common tradition from Orkhon inscriptions to Uighurs, from Divanu Lügatit Turk to folk and divan poetry. This usage began to increase significantly from Yunus Emre to other divans, especially since the 15th century and also this usage of the poets in the 16th century stands out. Garâmî has also included Proverbs and idioms in his poems because of his more simplicity and clarity in his writings and his local side. This study was prepared to determine the idioms and proverbs that existed in the poems in divan of Garâmî, one of the 16th century poets, and to reveal the language existence of the period in the proverbs and idioms used in this century. We discussed our thesis in three main title: 1. Garâmî's life, his literary personality and his divan, 2. The definitions of the proverbs and idioms and the differences between them, their features in terms of linguistics and their usage in classical literature, 3. The proverbs and idioms in Garâmî's divan. When handling these titles, in the first title we prepared the first chapter by examining primarily his divan and then all articles, publications and symposiums which are related to Garâmî. In the second title, we exhibited the definitions of the proverbs and idioms and the differences between them, the semantic and morphological differences in terms of linguistics by using published articles, dictionaries and sources. However, we stated their usage in classical literature, purposes and reasons of poets' usage of proverbs and idioms in their poems by considering the literary, political and social understanding of the period. In the third title, we searched Garâmî's divan which is the basic material. We detected 4 proverbs, 213 idioms in his divan. After we had listed these idioms and proverbs detected in alphabetical order, we compared them with the idioms and proverbs previously published, we tried to explain the idioms and proverbs that were not found in those publications or used in other meanings. We evaluated all this study in the 'conclusion' section. We included the bibliographic records of the books, articles and resources that we had used during our study in the 'references' section.
