Opinions of sports managers and coaches working in Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality about doping and determining their doping knowledge levels

In this study, it is aimed to examine the thoughts of sports managers and coaches working in Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality about doping and their knowledge levels about doping. Our study is structured within the scope of the descriptive screening model, which is one of the quantitative research techniques. This model is an approach that aims to describe existing situations as they are (Karasar, 2015). The universe of our study consists of sports managers and coaches working in Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality in 2024. The sample of the study consists of 150 sports managers and coaches working in Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality in 2024. The purpose of this research is to examine the thoughts and knowledge levels of sports managers and coaches working in Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality about doping. In our country, the communication, information transfer and guidance of our valuable sports managers with their subordinates and superiors; and the communication, information transfer, guidance and healthy progress of our valuable coaches with their athletes are very important issues. Our study aims to shed light on the scientific field for future generations by focusing on the subject of doping, to be a guide and to contribute to their healthy progress. SPSS 22.0 package program was used to analyze the data obtained in the study. Before proceeding to the analysis of the data, it is of great importance to make the data suitable. Frequency, percentage analysis and Chi Square test were used in this study. The statistical significance level was determined as p<0.05. As a result, when the thoughts and knowledge of the sports managers and coaches participating in the study were examined, it was seen that the majority of the participants were absolutely against the legalization of doping and stated that doping should not be used, that it is against sports ethics and that it leads to unfair competition.
