Modeling and economical analysis of the solid waste management in gazi̇antep province

This study consists of urban solid waste management of Gaziantep city according to EU Directives and Turkish Regulations for planning the most suitable way with health and economy. Also, area and capacity of the existing Solid Waste Landfill Plant and waste operation costs were calculated. Population and waste characterization of Gaziantep has been examined and than 3 different scenarios have been developed according to EU Directives and Turkish regulations. First of all, in this study, population was forecasted between 1995 and 2045. With the help of the TUIK's data, different methods were tried. Some actual data which is collected form Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, unit waste quantity is calculated. In 2018 solid waste is 2000 ton/day in Gaziantep. Also, solid waste quantity for per capita is 0.88 kg/day. The situation scenario, which is most suitable way with environment health and economy, was selected for Gaziantep after making analyzes and explained the all results which are details in conclusion chapter.
