Determination of families, socio-cultural and socio-economic structures and expectation levels of students attending sports schools in Gaziantep province

The aim of this research is to determine the families socio-economic structures and expectation levels of the parents of the students attending sports schools in Gaziantep. In the research, the questionnaire expressions specified in the "Identification of the Reasons of the Families to Send their Children to Football Schools" applied by Sezgin Meral in 2010 were used. In the research, the demographic structures of the parents, their expectation levels, the level of interest towards sports and the problems faced by the parents were determined by the screening model, which is one of the descriptive research methods, by applying it to the summer sports schools in Gaziantep. The universe of this research consists of students attending summer sports schools in Gaziantep. The sample group of the study consisted of 565 people who were determined by random method among the individuals who brought their children to summer sports schools. Statistical analyzes of the research were made with JASP (A Fresh Way to Do Statistics) 0.9.2.0 program. Reliability analyzes of the research questions, normal distribution and homogeneous distribution analyzes were made and analyzes were made according to the average scores obtained from each question. In the statistical method, frequency (N), percent (%) mean (X̄) and T-test and One-Way Variance (ANOVA) correlation analysis were applied. The statistical significance of the evaluation of the results was determined as Cronbach's Alpha p<0.05. In the research, the reliability level of the questionnaire for the tendency to send their children to the summer sports school was Cronbach's Alpha coefficient = 0.863, and it was understood that the questionnaire items were consistent with each other. In conclusion; It has been determined that families send their children to be healthy, to receive undergraduate education in the field of sports in the future, and to get rid of school stress.
