Determination of noise levels and its enviromental impacts in the heavy traffic areas of Gaziantep

In this study, the maximum noise level measurements of important places of Gaziantep city center were made and evaluated together with the relevant noise regulations. In this context, certain points were selected for noise measurement in 10 different regions on the intersections and main roads where the traffic is heavy, in noise sensitive areas (hospitals, schools etc.) in the city center. In order to determine the maximum noise levels at these points, over a six-month period from January to June, each day of the week between 07:30 and 08:30 in the morning, 11:30 - 12:30 in the noon and 23.30 - 00.30 in the night, hours, measurements were taken with verification measurements three times in each measurement. Approximately 4860 measurement results were obtained from all these measurement points. It has been determined that these values are evaluated in the daily time frame together with weekday and weekend comparisons and seasonal changes. Based on this, it has been determined that the winter months are less noisy, the weekend values have more intense noise, and the morning hours creates less noise than the noon and night hours measurements.
