Abstract (EN)

Recently, the financial sustainability of NGOs has become a worldwide issue, particularly in politically sensitive environments such as Palestine, where most NGOs face many difficulties in obtaining sustainable funds. The study aimed to examine the factors influencing the financial sustainability of LNGOs in Gaza, Palestine. It investigated the impact of income diversification, sound financial management practices, applying downward and upward accountability, and strong donor relationships on achieving financial sustainability. The study targeted 71 executive and financial managers of NGOs through a structured questionnaire, with a sample of 45 responses analyzed using descriptive statistics (means, standard deviations, and frequency tables) and inferential statistics (Pearson correlation and simple regression analysis) via SPSS software. The study found that sound financial management practices have the most significant positive impact on financial sustainability, followed by applying downward and upward accountability, strong donor relationships, and income diversification. All of these variables significantly influence financial sustainability. Based on these results, the study recommends strengthening these practices to enhance the long-term financial sustainability of NGOs.
