Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted to reveal the effect of motivation to prevent food waste on food waste behavior at home and in hotels and to determine the relationship between food waste behavior between home and hotel environments. In this context, a questionnaire form consisting of 3 different scales, namely "The motivation to avoid food waste" to measure food waste motivation, "Scale for Measuring Food Waste Avoidance Behaviors at Home" to determine food waste prevention behaviors at home and "Scale for Measuring Food Waste Avoidance Behaviors in Hotels" to determine food waste prevention behaviors at the hotel, was applied to the participants. In the study, 241 questionnaire forms collected from individuals aged 18 and over with at least one night of accommodation experience in all-inclusive concept hotels using convenience and purposive sampling methods were evaluated. SPSS and SmartPLS analysis programs were used together to analyze the data. This study clearly reveals that individuals' food wasting behaviors differ according to various motivational dimensions and affect their actions differently in home and hotel settings. In conclusion, the findings of the study reveal the influence of food waste prevention motivations on food waste prevention behaviors at home and in hotels and underline the need for strategies to effectively address food waste behaviors.
