Abstract (EN)
This study aimed to determine the psychological and spiritual well-being and self-performance of pregnant women. This descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted with 245 pregnant women at the Gynecology and Obstetrics Outpatient Clinic of Aksaray University Training and Research Hospital between December 2024 and May 2025. Data was collected via face-to-face interviews using the "Introductory Information Form," the "Psychological Well-Being Scale (PWBS), the "Spiritual Well-Being Scale (SWBS)," and the "Self-Compassion Scale (SCS). Independent groupst test, One-way ANOVA and Kruskal-Wallis H test, Pearson correlation and linear regression analyses were used to evaluate the data. The mean total scores of the pregnant women on the PWBS, SWBS, and SCS were determined as 45,09±7,91, 4,20±0,47, and 3,50±0,57, respectively. A positive and moderate correlation was found between psychological well-being, spiritual well-being, and self-compassion levels, and a positive and moderate statistically significant correlation was found between psychological well-being and the transcendence and harmony with nature sub-dimensions of the spiritual well-being scale. A negative and low-level correlation was found between PWBS and the anomie sub-dimension of the SWBS, and a positive and moderate correlation was found between the self-compassion and consciousness sub-dimensions of the SCS. In addition, it was concluded that spiritual well-being and self-compassion significantly and positively predicted psychological well-being and explained 21.5% of the variance. In line with these results, it is deemed important for nurses to evaluate the psychological and spiritual well-being of the pregnant women they care for, as well as their physical well-being, and to provide health education that will positively affect the self-compassion of pregnant women.
