A story of Sehzade Behram and Melike Hunriz written in late Chagatai Turkish (Text-translation-grammar-index)

The Story of Şehzade Behram and Melike Hunriz is a folktale from the 19th century. Although there are verse parts, the copyist of this story, which is mostly written in prose, is not clear. There are also Uighur, Turkmen, Azeri Uzbek, Balkan, Karakalpak, Kabardin, Armenian, Georgian and Karaim variants of the story. The text we have is the past period Chagatai Turkish version of the story. In the study, the copy in the Islamic Manuscripts section of the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin Library was used. Transcription of the text, Turkish translation, phonetic-morphological features and index were prepared; In this way, the work has four main extensions. For the appearance that has both transcription and language features, the suffixes are placed in accordance with the view. It is aimed to present the study to both Chagatai Turkish and Folklore.
