Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of social anxiety levels and beliefs about unpredictability on prosocial behaviors in university students during late adolescence. The sample of the study consists of 220 university students, 168 females and 52 males, aged between 18 and 25. Data were collected using the Demographic Information Form, the Adult Prosociality Scale, the Unpredictability Beliefs Scale, and the Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale. The data were analyzed using IBM SPSS 26.0 software. To determine the suitability for the study, internal consistency analyses were performed to assess normal distribution. Independent samples t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), multiple linear regression analysis, Pearson, and Spearman tests were applied to the data. According to the demographic information obtained from the participants, it was found that gender affects prosocial tendencies and social anxiety levels. The study concluded that there is a positive relationship between social anxiety and unpredictability beliefs. Additionally, a multiple linear regression analysis was conducted to examine the predictive role of prosocial behaviors and unpredictability beliefs on social anxiety. The analysis revealed that unpredictability beliefs significantly predicted social anxiety.
