Transition from tranditional journalism into digital journalism: Radikal Newspaper as research example

In today's digital era, world of media is in a transformation process caused by technological developments. This transformation also leads many newspapers to change in terms of structure and practices of journalism. In this thesis, conversion of newspaper of Radikal from a printed publication into a digital publication is examined and its implications are discussed. In this context, experienced technical and structural differences in the process by the newspaper are considered, differencies which are observed about its editorial policy and with awareness about social conditions. For this purpose, historical qualitative research design was used in this study. To reveal the reasons of Radikal's conversion into internet by discussing about its milstones is important in order to understand the structure of the newspapers in the Turkish media in the digital age. In this process of increasing printing costs, changing publishing policies and technological changing, this analysis made with the example of Radikal, reveals the present state of journalism environment.
