Abstract (EN)

Theater is a tool that enables the transfer of experiences, lifestyles and traditions of people from the past to the present. This tool helps people come together and connect. Traditions and cultural elements have been transferred to future generations with the help of cinema, television and other technological tools besides theater with the changing or transforming time. It has been determined that the comedy duos, which are seen as İhtiyar and İbiş, Karagöz and Hacivat, Kavuklu and Pişekar in the traditional Turkish folk theater, are continued with the roles of Zeki and Metin in the films Zeki Alasya and Metin Akpınar. In this study, 26 films Zeki-Metin duos were examined and elements of humor and laugh were determined. The effect of traditional Turkish folk theater in Zeki Alasya and Metin Akpınar's films was evaluated in the context of humor and laugh with a comparative method, by taking the comedy duos into the center. In addition, the films are explained by considering Henri Bergson's theory of laugh and the functions of humor. Keywords: Comedy Duos, Zeki Alasya, Metin Akpınar, Theater, Cinema.
