The reflection of traditional Turkish arts to contemporary Turkish art of painting after 1970

This research include the subject of The Reflection of Traditional Turkish Arts to Contemporary Turkish Arts After 1970.In the study,it has been dealt miniatur and the art of calligraphy which are from traditional Turkish arts,the process of creating an original art by reflecting to contemporary Turkish art of painting and its development and sample works of some artists who interpreted the traditional arts with understanding of contemporary arts and reflecting it to their canvas. In this study , the usage of traditional arts in terms of plastic and symbolic in Turkish art of painting and analyzing the role of reflecting of Turkish nationality to paintings has been aimed. The study has been formed in scanning model is restricted with the understanding of art and sample works of the artists such as Erol Akyavaş, Ömer Uluç, Ergin İnan, Devrim Erbil and Süleyman Saim Tekcan who carried the effects of traditional Turkish arts to their works after 1970.According to the results obtained in the study, it has been seen that in the steps of Westernization of Turkish art of painting after miniatur, artists protected traditional Turkish arts by reflecting the effects, in terms of either patterns or forms and composition to their works. Hereby the artists contributed to Turkish art of painting to make a national character.After 1970, the traditional approaches remained behind and departed from conventionalism with the introduction Conceptual Arts to the art of painting which has developed with the help of West. It has been seen that Turkish painters who adopted the understanding of Western art needed to investigate, research and recall their own cultural and art works towards the end of the 20th century.The artists such as Erol Akyavaş and Devrim Erbil from 1970, were impressed by the miniature technique using city descriptions and geometrical disciplinary of Matrakçı Nasuh.Ömer Uluç, Ergin İnan ve Süleyman Saim Tekcan made works impressed by Hüsn-ü Line art (calligraphy) which is a traditional Turkish art. These artists made Turkish art of painting furthered to a new synthesis by creating the traditional Turkish art with western techniqual understanding.As a result of studying the sample works of the artists who have been mentioned on the thesis, traditional Turkish arts have impressed all of the terms of the Turkish art of painting and this impact has been seen concreted tendency to create a national art against to create a universal language of art.
