Özet (EN)

Thrace is an important region between Europe and Asia in a crossroad position. There are a lot of archeological excavations and surveys which have been carried out in Bulgaria and Greece. All the Neolithic cultures discovered by these excavations are in an advanced stage. However, there is still a lot of questions to be answered about where and how the neolithic populations moved or immigrated. Also we have few information about the details of these Neolithic cultures.Until now, only some very limited number of excavations or surface surveys and salvation excavations relevant to this period have been carried out in Turkish Thrace. Although there are very few surveys even these were are enough to show that some of the important questions could be answered. This thesis adds important information on Neolithic cultures, their tool technology and typology. The basis of this thesis is on the results of field surveys done at the last five years in Southern Turkish Thrace. The database of this lithic techno-typological study is obtained from the surface collections of two Neolithic mounds: Hüsrev and Kaynarca situated in the Gallipoli Peninsula. This study aims at providing a database for the future studies in this field of work. Keywords: Neolithic Turkish Thrace, prehistoric flaked stone tools, Neolithic stone tool industry, techno-typological study.
